Dressing Room Mayhem: Skipping the Dreaded line
Why try on stuff in the dressing room when you can try things outside? There are usually lines of people at almost every store you go to when you shop! Its funny sometimes... seeing all of the people groaning about the wait in line to the dressing rooms. Last weekend we went to nordstrom rack and the line was maybe 20+ people, wanting to try on items their items that were considered to be outer garments (such as a coat or vest). Heres a tip to speeding up your shopping experience:
(Tip for ladies and possibly guys)
1) Wear Leggings/tights as your "bottom" (preferably not too sheer)
2) If outerwear is needed because of cold weather, make sure that it is easy to take off quickly
3) A plain tube/tank top (preferably a fitted shirt)
4) Grab everything you might want at the first go to save time (don't try one thing on and then look through racks after, because you know you'll find something after to try on).
5) Rush to the closest mirror with a nearby rack/space to put your clothes on after/during your try on period
It might look funny to try on skirts and dresses because when you take them off you look like your stripping but trust me, if you aren't afraid of people looking at you struggling in & out of your clothes, then this is a major time saver.
Happy shopping =).

Fashion Project 1: Revitalizing Vintage/Old Clothing
Finished this top months ago but finally had the courage to post pics.
First "design" ever in my life. =)
(I just made the dandelion/applique)
Isn't this Anthropologie/ J.Crew like?
This knit top used to have this white/fluffy peplum that i had attached but i decided to take it off since it looked too kiddish =P.
Comments?

Dare to be labelled a shopaholic... an ongoing decision and rant
I love shopping too much. i look online everyday!
I was debating whether or not i should do posts on my thoughts and current likes/dislikes atm in fashion, but there are no followers ;P and i'm not sure if there are repeat or internet savvy fashionistas who check my blog religiously. ;P.
Not that it matters but sometimes this feels like a diary. I started this so that i could possibly meet others who are as enthusiastic about fashion as me! I thought to myself, isn't there some type of huge forum where fashion crazed people can unite and exchange their deepest desires and thoughts? I believe so... but they are for the elite: insiders of the fashion industry.
Now that doesn't mean I can't post my ideas here. I can definitely push out some fun findings but passerbys are inevitable and this blog wasn't made just for me to skim over, it's for the whole world to see.
Just hopefully in the near future, someone can comment or post their thoughts.
..and that would be enough for me to keep my will of obsessing over fashion, alive.
Reason for title of Blogpost:
My mother labelled me a shopaholic, not in a good way either =P.
Who thinks that being a shopaholic isn't a bad thing? - me

Forever 21 Miu Miu Knockoffs! (Daisy Print)
Finally back from an unexpected hiatus. I just had to post a blog (and a some more after this one) about a great find!
Decided to check out forever21's online site for once and lo and behold, there is something i want from there! Forever21 came out with these "inspired by/Knockoffs" mary janes in black, polka dot print, and daisy print.
Price was around $25! I was kind of iffy at first whether or not to buy the shoes because the only picture that i saw online was of the polka dot pair and it reminded me too much of a pinupgirl type of shoe =/. After reading nitrolicious (love you guys) and refinery29, i wanted to check out the daisy print.
3 days after their posts, they sold out online!
Phoned my mom after finding out that the shoes sold out and told her to check if there was a daisy print in stock at her forever21.
There was 1 left. ;).
Heres a pic of the original Miu Miu pumps:

Forever 21:
Daisy Print

They seem to run a tad bit big in length but other than that they were a steal!
I suggest that if you really want these go to your local xxi because when I phoned them, they weren't of much help at all and they told em that they didn't have any >..>.
Run because these will if not already be sold out in stores!
GL ladies and check out my blog and my new posts!

Shoes Galore: Mules + Platform Pumps
Shoes are something I love to collect. They are like pieces of art! Hoard...
This spring/summer, I call for Orange Mules + sky high Hidden-Platform Pumps. As said earlier in my Blog about the Tomita Pump, I finally recieved them! (IN BOTH COLORS)!
(I ended up ordering both colors of the same shoe)
Blasphemy . . .
Here are the Pics:
Aren't they gorgeous? Orgasmic. Shoe Heaven. I think I can finally RIP.

A brand by the Olsen Twins, it's their lower-end/cheaper brand but still Designer and is supposed to be more affordable to the genral public. "Narrowing the gap between Designer and Contemporary", prices are usually $300+ which isn't exactly wallet friendly but their unique footwear just makes me fashiontastic-orgasmic! Beautiful chic shoes and literally... TO DIE FOR! (omg I love these shoes so much you don't even know).
Elizabeth & James - Maryl
Elizabeth & James - Sophi
If you would like to get any of these shoes click on the links below.

(And again, if you want to stalk these shoes to see if they will come back in stock in your size and color heres the link)
........................................................................
I think I've fullfilled my shoe craving this month... maybe this week...
I've got to go get more shoes. Aren't these gorgeous though?

ZAC POSEN for Target Review - 3 Looks 1 Dress, Quality Control
Stayed up till 12 just to order the new Zac Posen for Target looks!
I was stoked because I love designer collaborations and being able to own a piece from this colletion would basically be a once in a lifetime thing/exclusive!
I loved the ruched miniskirt and yellow raincoat but none of the items looked nice enough to keep. (The raincoat looked like a fireman's jacket). If i had to recommend 1 piece to keep out of all the items, I would recommend getting the ruched skirt because it is the most versatile and easily transitional and wearable piece in the whole collection. From work to play this would be the ideal item to buy and it is one of the few items that haven't been sold out yet! (I just wish it would fit right).
Now the Dresses were a whole other story. To me, it was a hot mess. Big no for the organza "3 Look" Dress.
Now the Dresses were a whole other story. To me, it was a hot mess. Big no for the organza "3 Look" Dress.
Heres a tip:
If you really want a certain item that is sold out online, make sure to call your nearest target and ask them if they have it! The search option for locating an item closest to you doesnt work very well and isn't exactly accurate and updated as I had checked the site for a certain dress and it said it was sold out but most sizes of the dress were still at my local target location!
Summed Up:
Didn't keep any items because either the fit wasn't right or we just didn't need it.

Update: The Tuxedo Skirt is in stock and I love it! Thick material; a pleated skirt. Get this while it's still in stock.

I spy a bright Lip!
Prada - Bright orange-red lips.
BCBG - Bright orange-red lips.

Une Femme... C'est Ma Mere!
Pretty fun yesturday(cough), my mom was getting ready to go eat out while I got to mope at home and catch up on my load of homework. Why do I have to be so busy?
...........................
About a month ago I picked out these pieces at Nordstrom Downtown Seattle and people were complimenting her left and right when they saw the outfit I put together right in the store!
I loved the cropped jacket for it's feminine yet harsh chic cut.
Cropped is the way to go for any season you guys. When I saw the jacket on the rack I was like, please oh please there must be a size 0 left!!!
And there was!
About 20 feet away I saw the beautiful Kangaroo Pocket Sheer Cowl Neck Poncho style shirt. What ever size was left I had to have it (there was an XS though thank Jeezuuuzz)!
To tell you the truth the price tags were a bit painfull to look at because we're not really used to buying such expensive clothes (H&M is OUR go to store).
................
On a side note:
Guess how old my mom is? ;)

Une Femme.... C'est qui?
So i was busy this week with classes at my college. I can't believe I have so much homework this quarter!
Update On Pics:
Haven't had time to take them yet I'll most likely get them up by the end of next week? (I have work this weekend and I'm getting ready for my term paper!).
For anyone who has seen my blog and have come back... sorry about the delays... 2moro will be fantastic!
I'll post pics of "une femme" within 24 hours. It's a mix of urban chic with a very relaxed and whimsical/airy look to it.
I also started working on my second line and for now its turning out to be very thematic compared to the first line which i haven't uploaded anything on that yet!
Some quick notes:
2nd line will be for Spring 2011. Fisherman inspired clothing. A Mix of structured and free flowing clothing. It definately ties in with my first line ever on Fall 2010. Hope to see some responses soon when things get posted!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Btw I love photography im just not so good at it BUT I love seeing other peoples work and I LOVE input so I've decided to share some of my photography
Here's a pic from my portfolio from the Photography class I took during Fall Quarter of last year (6 months ago)
Fashion Design... A Wooly Rendez-Vous
So I've finally gotten back to school and classes and I am loaded with homework this quarter. This blogging thing will be a stretch for me BUT I will try to keep everyone posted on what is upcoming and IMPORTANT!
A side note....
I'll try to make this blog more personable and less promoting of products.
(No traffic yet but i'll see)
.............................
Wool, Patent Leather, Silk Chiffon, Silk Organza
Last quarter I took a fashion design class and overall I'd have to say that I enjoyed the experience and it pushed my creativity and triggered some color choice questioning.
We had to create a line of clothing 12+ pieces specifically under certain categories such as:
Evening Dresses
Day Dresses
Casual Sportswear
......
Well I was lucky enough to design a mix of both seperates and dresses.
(AKA Designer WOMENSWEAR)
Now this whole thing may sound tacky and lame because it's for SCHOOL but it was much more fun than I anticipated.
....
Now, besides designing clothes (just drawing =/), we had to also create a customer profile w/ board and a line list which showed off our designs!
After many months of working on this final project we presented our work IN FRONT OF THE CLASS.
I was personally very nervous abuot showing off my work BECAUSE for me this was a piece of me and not something i drew up at the last minute. I worked on this for hours on end perfecting many ideas that were spinning around in my head.
(I'll post some pics of my work and a PDF showing off my Garment Line List in about a week or two since my teacher hasn't finished grading it yet [for anyone interested in seeing my work hahah...] )
But really... for anyone who is interested, this is what I've done for the past 4 months in school.
Also, it was really fun seeing everyones work! But personally, I'd say that my custoemr board and my line was the most creative in class. IMHO.
Pretty Cool eh?
